Cage picks XU for next season

Justin Cage, a senior at Indianapolis Pike High School, will play at Xavier University next season, said his coach, Larry Bullington.

Cage originally was going to attend prep school for one year, but with the early departures of Anthony Coleman and Dave Young, the Musketeers have an open scholarship for next season.

Cage might sign a national letter of intent during the late signing period, which begins April 16.

Cage, who is 6-foot-6, has led Pike to a 13-0 record this season and averages 13 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Recruiting web site www.theinsiders.com ranks Cage as the 19th-best small forward recruit in the nation (95th overall).
