XU's road to title game

(All matchups assume higher-seeded teams win earlier games)

FIRST ROUND: Hawaii (27-5): Despite the fact Hawaii is a loooooong way away and has nine international players on its roster, it and XU had very similar seasons and statistical lines.

SECOND ROUND: Oklahoma (27-4): The Sooners are peeved they didn't get a No.1 seed after upsetting Kansas in the Big 12 finals. They better get over it quick, or XU could surprise them.

SWEET 16: Arizona (22-9): Yeah, the Wildcats lost nine games. But they played the nation's toughest schedule according to the RPI. Remember, this was supposed to be their rebuilding year.

ELITE EIGHT: Cincinnati (30-3): Gee, you think this might be a bit fun? XU and UC have never met in the postseason. Could they do so with a Final Four bid at stake?

FINAL FOUR : Duke (29-3): After dispatching one No.1 seed, what's one more? Plus, Thad Matta could call buddy Herb Sendek at North Carolina State for a scouting report.

TITLE GAME: Kansas (29-3): In 1988, Kansas beat XU in the first round and went on to win it all. What a great occasion for revenge. (Hey, dare to dream).
