Shoulder may keep Price out
By Neil Schmidt
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Lloyd Price, Xavier's Atlantic 10 first-team preseason pick, has now totaled as many injuries three as 15-point games.
The junior forward is questionable for Wednesday's home finale against St. Bonaventure with a sore left shoulder. He surprised his coaches by showing up Monday with an ice bag on the shoulder and sitting out practice.
Price hadn't told them of any pain immediately after the Rhode Island game Saturday, but he said Monday it was still stiff from that game.
All we know is it's sore, trainer David Fluker said. Coach Skip Prosser termed the injury day to day.
Price has been ailing the past two months from a bulging hernia in his pelvic area and still reports pain from an ankle sprain which caused him to miss the season's first four games. He is averaging 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds, down from his averages of 13 points and six rebounds last year.
As of now, I'm planning on playing (Wednesday) unless he says I can't, Price said, motioning to Fluker.
