Xavier women play last home game today

12th-ranked Muskies say goodbye to five

By Neil Schmidt
The Cincinnati Enquirer

When a team ranked 12th in the nation has four senior starters, Senior Day is bound to be a big deal. It couldn't be bigger for the Xavier women, who today honor five seniors after their 2 p.m. regular-season home finale against Dayton.

The five — Taru Tuukkanen, Nicole Levandusky, Jennifer Phillips, Jennifer Parr and Erin Hall (nee Senser) — have combined for 5,071 points, 2,194 rebounds, 1,282 assists and 635 steals.

They have gone 89-28 and are headed for their fourth postseason appearance.

Tuukkanen (1,606 career points) and Levandusky (1,602), who rank fourth and fifth on the school's scoring list, both might pass No.3 scorer Lynn Bihn (1,607) today.

Levandusky is XU's career leader in 3-pointers with 274 (19th in NCAA history) and steals with 354.

Phillips' career field-goal percentage of 56.5 and Tuukkanen's mark of 56.0 are both on pace to break the XU career record of 53.2, held by Jo Ann Henderson (nee Osterkamp).

On XU's rebounding list, Tuukkanen ranks third (789), Phillips fifth (678) and Levandusky 10th (516).

Phillips and Levandusky each have started 100 consecutive games. Tuukkanen has started 72 straight.

XU (22-2), which leads the Atlantic 10 at 12-1, is on a school-record 12-game winning streak.
