Taru Tuukkanen recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 22 points and 16 rebounds as No.19 Xavier held off St. Bonaventure 72-60 Friday at Cintas Center. Nicole Levandusky led the No.18 Musketeers with 26 points.

The Musketeers improve to 16-2 overall and 7-1 in the Atlantic 10.

St.Bonaventure stayed close for the most of the game as the Musketeers struggled to find their shot. XU shot a season-low 38.1 percent from the field.

Xavier led at halftime 35-32, but the Bonnies took a one-point advantage, 36-35, early in the second half. The Musketeers responded with a 16-4 run to take a 51-40 lead with nine minutes left in the game.

XU maintained a double-digit lead over the final four minutes of the game to come away with the win.

Courtney Mattingly led the Bonnies (5-12, 1-6) with 17 points, and Gellaine Clarke recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Xavier visits Rhode Island at 1p.m. Sunday. The Musketeers return to Cintas Center for a nonconference battle with Florida State on Feb.1.
