Xavier women climb polls

Highest ranking ever in AP poll

The Xavier women's basketball team made a large climb in both major polls released Monday. The Musketeers gained five spots in the Associated Press poll to check in at No.18 and they are now at No.19 in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches' Poll.

Xavier's position of 18th in the AP Poll is the highest ranking ever for the Musketeers. The previous high for the Musketeers was No. 19 that came earlier this season.

The Musketeers made the move up in the polls after defeating Temple 73-63 and St. Joseph's 73-57 during a weekend trip to Philadelphia.

Xavier will return to action on Wednesday in an Atlantic 10 game at Dayton at 7 p.m. The Musketeers return home to the Cintas Center to take on St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. Friday.
