XU's Braggs cut by Jazz

Xavier graduate Torraye Braggs was cut by the Utah Jazz late Wednesday. Braggs played in eight preseason games, starting four, and averaged 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 15.6 minutes. “He had a great camp with the Jazz,” his agent, Mark Bartelstein, said. “The Jazz are one of the few teams who just don't believe in keeping anybody on the injured list at all ... Hopefully somebody will bring him up quickly. If not, he'll go to the CBA.”

The Quad City Thunder, in Rock Island, Ill., own Braggs' CBA rights.
