Prep center reschedules visit to XU

Marcus Douthit, a 6-foot-10 center from Notre Dame High School in Fitchburg, Mass., will not visit Xavier this weekend as expected but instead will take a recruiting trip to Villanova.

“He was planning all along to go to Villanova this week,” said Bill Barton, basketball program director at Notre Dame.

Douthit, a Syracuse, N.Y., native, is tentatively scheduled to visit Xavier the weekend of Nov.6, Barton said.

Randy Holbrook from Kirkwood, Mo., is still scheduled to visit Xavier this weekend.

BACK SO SOON: Sophomore Lloyd Price, who strained his left rotator cuff in practice Tuesday, was back on the floor Thursday — sooner than expected.

The Musketeers were off Wednesday, and Price was not expected back until the weekend. He took part in a limited number of drills and was frustrated whenever he was waved off the court.

He said his shoulder still hurts but not as much as when he injured it.

“It's better,” Price said. “I could've played today, but they wouldn't let me.”
