Prosser likes recruiting class
Xavier made it official and signed Marcus Mason, a 6-foot-9, 250-pound center from Santa Monica (Cal.) College.
We feel that we have added two solid big men and two talented perimeter players, coach Skip Prosser said.
The addition of Mason brings the university's recruiting class to four players. The others:
David West, a 6-foot-8 forward from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va.
David Young, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from New Castle (Penn.) High
Lionel Chalmers, a 6-foot point guard from Albany (N.Y.) High.
Mason earned first-team All-Western State Conference honors this season while leading his team to a 28-2 mark. He averaged 13.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and shot 62.4 percent.
