TAMPA, Fla. — Xavier coach Skip Prosser met with Notre Dame officials Sunday to discuss the men's basketball coach's opening at the school, but there was no job offer made, sources said Sunday.

Prosser reportedly was told he was one of six candidates for the job, which Notre Dame hopes to fill by mid-week.

Notre Dame met Saturday with Dan Monson, who led Gonzaga to the Elite Eight, and also have met with Kansas assistant Matt Doherty.

The other candidates, who have been widely reported, are Mike Brey (Delaware), Bill Carmody (Princeton) and Paul Hewitt (Siena). Prosser could not be reached Sunday night.
