Xavier women drop season finale
Melissa Coursey scored 19 points, including five three-pointers, and Susan Moran had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead St. Joseph's to a 76-66 win over Xavier in the regular-season finale for both teams.
St. Joseph's forced 21 turnovers, including eight by XU point guard Nikki Kremer. Kremer had 11 assists, giving her 221 this season and breaking Carol Madsen's school record of 212 set in 1993-94.
Jennifer Phillips scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Xavier (20-7, 11-5 Atlantic 10).
Xavier, the No.3 seed in the West, will play No.6 Rhode Island in the first round of the A-10 tournament at 2 p.m. Friday in Philadelphia.
