XU's Turner suspended one game
BY MICHAEL PERRY
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Xavier will have to face Massachusetts and 6-foot-10 Lari Ketner on Saturday without its starting center.
Aaron Turner, a 6-7 freshman, has been suspended for one game, the school announced Thursday night.
Aaron Turner has been cited by Cincinnati police and has paid the fine associated with that citation, Athletic Director Mike Bobinski said in a statement. Based on an internal review of the facts, we feel that appropriate action has been taken.
He later told the Enquirer:It was clearly a case of a bad decision and being in the wrong place, which was clearly under his control, and he needs to be responsible and accountable for it.
Said coach Skip Prosser: I can't talk about it. I'm going to let the statement stand by itself.
Turner was coming off his best game with career-highs of 10 points and 13 rebounds against La Salle.
Reggie Butler or Obi Harris will likely start in Turner's place.
