The time for Xavier's Nov. 26 first-round game at the Puerto Rico Shootout has been changed to 4 p.m. (Cincinnati time) from 1:30 p.m.
The good news for Musketeer fans is the move was so the game could be televised by Fox Sports Ohio and Fox Sports Pittsburgh.
The bad news for XU coaches is that should Xavier win its first game against Pittsburgh, it will have 2ï hours less to prepare for the next day's game against Kentucky (assuming the Wildcats beat Colorado at 11 a.m. on Nov. 26).
"I thought it was great for Xavier, great for us, great for Pittsburgh and great for the Xavier fans," tournament director Chris Spencer said. "I never took into consideration the factor of 2ï hours of less rest. I was thinking as a tournament, not as a coach."
Said Xavier coach Skip Prosser: "Believe me, the second round of that tournament is as far from my mind as anything can be."
