Outlook: The learning phase is over under third-year coach Tom Grippa and the Indians appear ready to make their presence felt in the Greater Miami Conference. When a passing-oriented coach like Grippa, has a standout running back such as Earl Haynes (1,500 plus yards rushing), that's bad news for opposing teams. Adding to the strength of the offense is a mammoth line that includes Justin Belarski (6-4, 260), Abe Lawson (6-1, 225) and Jeff Ramsey (6-5, 280). Defense is Grippa's biggest concern, especially with a completely new secondary. The kicking game and a lack of experienced receivers could also pose problems.
