Coach: Kerry Coombs (72-36).
Outlook: There's little doubt that the Cardinals will be a ball control team again in 1999, keeping the ball on the ground despite losing two outstanding running backs to graduation.
Senior Adam Funk and junior Mike Ferris will battle for the quarterback position with linebacker Adam Greber moving to the all important fullback position to block for a host of speedy running backs.
The Cardinal offensive line is big, strong, quick and experienced blocking for the run. Senior center Jon Szary and offensive tackle Adam Fights will be the key players.
However, the defense was hit hard by graduation and returns only strong safety Mike Klotz and several part time starters.
