Coach: Jeff McCarthy (50-67)
Outlook: The Eagles have just one winning season in school history, a 6-5 mark in 1990. They should be able to improve on their 2-8 mark of last season, with a .500 mark perhaps a reachable goal.
The story at Scott is its two bruising running backs. Seniors Joe Kuehne and Craig Collinsworth both weigh 225 pounds, making this easily the biggest backfield in the area.
They hit hard luck last fall: Kuehne broke a thumb and Collinsworth broke a leg. Kuehne finished with 665 yards (4.9 per carry), including a career-high 192-yard night against Holmes.
''We have a good number of experienced players returning, both offensively and defensively,'' McCarthy said. ''Overall team speed is better than in years past. (But) depth is a very real problem. We will have to stay healthy and be in great physical condition throughout the season.''
