Coach: Tom Stellman (38-58)
Outlook: With Highlands and CovCath strong as ever and Dixie enjoying some sizeable hype, it's easy to overlook Conner. But the Cougars are a sleeper team that could give any of those powers quite a fight.
Seven starters return on offense, eight on defense. It's one of the biggest and strongest lineups in years.
''The line is the biggest ever at Conner and should be one of the best,'' Stellman said.
The star is senior Jeremiah Giron, who -- as a running back last year -- led the team in rushing (1,074 yards), receiving (25 catches, 188 yards), TDs (12), kickoff returns and punt returns. He's moving to QB this fall because of a bounty of other running backs.
''Jeremiah is one of the best all-around athletes in the state -- champion wrestler, great baseball player, super football player,'' Stellman said.
