Coach: Charles Coleman (82-71, including 1-0 this year)
Outlook: Bellevue hasn't had a winning season since 1991, though it has made the playoffs six of the past eight years. That doesn't mean the Tigers can't think big.
''I've been here over 20 years, and our goal has always been the same,'' Coleman said. ''Our goal's always to win a state championship.''
With Beechwood in your district, that's a tough trick. But for those seeking a breakthrough performance this fall, this could be the team. Bellevue could be the district's second-best team, talent-wise.
''We've got a good nucleus of returning veterans,'' Coleman said. ''I think the kids feel they ought to win this year.''
Sixteen starters return, eight on each side of the ball. Junior Nate Berkley, who split quarterback duties last year with Mike Gullett, becomes the full-time QB. Gullett will be a receiver.
Bellevue started strong with a 14-7 victory last Friday at Whitley County. The Tigers' strength is team speed, which will have to make up for a lack of size and depth.
