|Dick Swaim of Colerain Township has worked for the Enquirer since December 1969.
He graduated from the U.S. Naval Photography A School in 1964 and worked as a staff photographer at The High Point Enterprise in North Carolina from 1962 to 1964.
He lists as his influences Don Sturkey (The Charlotte Observer), George Honeycutt (The Houston Chronicle), William Albert Allard (National Geographic), Richard Avedon (New York), Eddie Adams (Associated Press) and E. Eugene Smith (LIFE magazine).
Photographs most always work better when there are people in them. I enjoy the challenge of making good photos of people, especially kids, and animals. A photograph may not tell 1,000 words, but a good one comes mighty close, in my opinion.
