MADEIRA - After three months of preparation for Madeira's Ohio bicentennial celebration, Vice Mayor Sherry Mattes feels she's been through two centuries of work.
"But it's worth it because the bicentennial comes only once," she said.
Bicentennial Festival in the Park will be held from 1-10 p.m. Sept. 20 at Sellman Park, off of Miami Road.
Rain date is Sept. 21.
Exhibits, including a calliope, will be shown by the Madeira Historical Society. They will represent 200 years of Ohio and local history.

MADISON TWP. - Fall Harvest Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Chrisholm Historic Farmstead, 2070 Woodsdale Road in Butler County.
Featured: antique tractors and farm machinery demonstrations, a blacksmith, cider press, craft vendors, wagon rides, food. A Saturday night barn dance, with Marvin Straight and the Cincinnati Express, will be held from 7-10:30 p.m.
Admission: $2 per person. Parking: $2.
HARVEYSBURG - Help capture, tag, record and release monarch butterflies at Monarch Butterfly Day at Caesar Creek State Park in Warren County from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

BANTAM - People in Clermont County may participate in a similar butterfly program at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the visitor center at East Fork State Park.
Stop to see the free monarch display at the center through September.
