FORT WRIGHT - Police continued to search Thursday for a woman wanted in the robbery of a US Bank branch on Dixie Highway.
A woman walked into the bank as it opened at 9 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money. Police said the note indicted the woman was armed. A gun was not seen.
Customers were in the bank at the time, but they were not aware that a robbery was taking place, police said. No one was hurt.
Police did not say how much money was taken.
The robber is described as white, 22 to 28 years of age, 5-foot-5 and weighing 250 to 290 pounds.
She was wearing a red shirt, khaki pants, ball cap and sunglasses.
The robber was last seen walking from the bank, located at 2001 Dixie Highway.
It is unusual for a woman to rob a bank, authorities said, adding they could not recall the last time a woman was wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Northern Kentucky.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at (859) 331-2191 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
