101 homes planned for Westwood subdivision

When Westwood resident Melva Qweyn heard that a 45-acre parcel along the 2500 block of Queen City Avenue was slated for 1,800 apartment units, her first thought was: "We certainly don't need any more apartments around here."
Now Qweyn and other local residents are breathing a little easier, as the parcel, between Sunset and La Feuille avenues, soon will be home to the 2003 Citirama Home Show, to take place in October. The development is being called Woodcrest Park: 101 single-family homes, with prices ranging from $140,000 to the low $200,000s.
"There are very few choices in this price point in the city and even fewer choices when you narrow it down to the west side," said David Seuberling, president of Spencerhill Homes and chairman of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati's executive committee.
Seuberling is also a consultant affiliated with Robert Rhein Interests, the local developer that purchased the Queen City Avenue parcel in April 2003. Spencerhill is one of six builders that will be involved.
The homes will be traditional in style, the majority three or more bedrooms, Seuberling said. A homeowners association will govern the subdivision.
