Boy hospitalized with chest wound in shooting

HAMILTON - A shooting sent an 11-year-old boy to the hospital Monday with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers arrived at the 700 block of Walnut Drive about 5:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a child shot, police said. The boy was taken to Middletown Regional Hospital, and transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The boy's name and his condition were not released late Monday.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Hamilton Police Department.
