Promotions, new on the job
Thomas J. Kirkwood, a partner in the Cincinnati office of Thompson Hine LLP, has been appointed to a two-year term as chair of the board of trustees for Cincinnati Nature Center. Kirkwood is in the construction practice group. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Gregory Kissel has been named principal at BHDP Architecture; Don Elsen and Kevin Meyer, associate principals; and Dara Baldridge, Brad Dunn and Scott McClure, associates.
Jon Engelhard has been named operations manager of Lakeshore Home Loans Inc. and Julie Phillips has joined the company as processing manager.
The following have been named vice presidents at Fifth Third Bank: Patty A. Zeuch; Tom Partridge; Stephanie Ferris; Teresa K. Cheek; and Brian Urquhart. Named assistant vice presidents are: Joe Knapp; Geoffrey Cross; and Lori L. Schaeper. Jenni Collier has been named assistant cashier.
Brian R. Finn has been appointed corporate vice president at Finn Graphics Inc., manufactures and imprints advertising-oriented products. Finn will continue his duties as national sales director while adding corporate administrative duties. He joined the company in 1998 in research and development of new products and appointed national sales director.
Dave Rinaldi has joined Sullivan Direct, a full-service direct marketing agency as vice president/business development; Ross Schlemmer, group creative director; and Anand Matthew, data analyst.
Michael A. Laing has joined Taft, Stettinius & Hollister's Cincinnati office as a partner in the tax, probate and estate-planning department.
Jim McDonald has joined Versa LCC, as senior vice president of sales. McDonald has a bachelor's degree from John Carroll University and a master's degree from Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago. He has more than 20 years of experience in the material handling industry. The past 14 years he has held multiple managerial positions within Alvey Systems Inc., an FKI Plc. Co., formerly a Pinnacle Automation Division.
Tim Ryan has been appointed vice president of client services at Directions Research Inc., a full-service market research firm; Todd Adrian named research analyst/executive trainee; Danielle Norden, receptionist; and Kelly Foster and Richard Snelling have been named senior applications programmers.
Julie Constable has joined Roeding Group Companies as marketing director. Constable will be responsible for marketing RGC to prospective clients as well as introducing the Zywave program to clients. She will be working with the benefits and property and casualty divisions in the Northern Kentucky and Lexington offices. She has more than 25 years experience in the insurance field.
The following have been appointed new members of Children's Dental Care Foundation's board of trustees: Dr. Michael B. Lee, dentist specializing in oral surgery, maxillofacial surgery and dental implantology; Victoria J. Nixon, executive director of the Cincinnati Dental Society; Lisa A. Raterman, consultant in event management and fund-raising in Northern Kentucky; Thomas L. Stachler, attorney with Strauss & Troy, LPA; John G. Waldmann, director of global health care quality assurance for oral care, personal health care and Iams products at the Procter & Gamble Co.; and Lynn Wood, a preschool teacher in Fairfield and a member of Kindervelt.
Holly Wiefering has been named marketing director at Coldwell Banker West Shell. Wiefering has been with the company for more than three years. She will be promoting the company's goals and initiatives internally and externally. She will be heading up all marketing projects company-wide for the Tristate and it's 15 offices, while also managing the public relations, previews exceptional properties and new homes sales divisions. She graduated from Xavier University with a degree in marketing and communications.
The following have been named officers for 2003-2004 for the Rotary Club of Cincinnati: William E. Henrich, president; and Cathleen A. Matchinga, secretary-treasurer.
William C. Gale has been named senior vice president of finance at Cintas Corp. Gale joined the company in 1955 as chief financial officer and has held that position for the last eight years. As chief financial officer, he will also be responsible for the corporate development effort at Cintas.
Kelly Sheehan and Bethany Kingston have joined LPK (Libby Perszyk Kathman) as account coordinators; and Kevin Kalish joined as associate account executive; and Stephanie Crair has been named senior designer.
Linda K. Pilon has been named a partner at Kamphaus, Henning & Hood, Certified Public Accountants.
Timothy Osborn has been named president of Definitive Solutions Co. Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Toys "R" Us that provides IT consulting, event management and staging and production services; Brian D. Griffin, vice president, strategic planning and business development; Stephen J. Kiernan, vice president of business and technology consulting; Anthony G. Manzo, vice president of visual communication and events; and Kenneth D. Reece, vice president, human resources, administration and finance.
Gloster B. Current Jr. has been appointed vice president of corporate planning at Northwestern Mutual. Current will direct all aspects of the corporate planning department, which includes strategy development, monitoring and communication, project management, corporate research and corporate development. He most recently spent eight years as vice president of marketing for Lincoln Financial Group. He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Howard University in Washington and obtained his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Nan McCart, executive officer of fund development at Episcopal Retirement Homes Inc., has been named the Distinguished Alumna of the Year for the University of Cincinnati's Clermont College.
HSR Business to Business Inc. has won a national award for its creative excellence in the largest and most representative competition in American advertising - the American Advertising Foundations' 2003 Addy Awards. This is the fourth time in six years that HSR has won a National Addy award.
HSR Business to Business has also been ranked among the top 150 public relations agencies in the U.S. by PRWeek Magazine for the third consecutive year.
Jim Yunker, president and chief executive officer of Smith Beers Yunker & Co. has been honored by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University with its 2003 Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
