Van Dyne Crotty Inc., the Dayton, Ohio, uniform supplier with a distribution center in Northern Kentucky, has introduced a new line of color-coordinated uniforms.
The new "Natural Power of Color Collection'' groups the company's most popular clothing styles in a system of blues, blacks, burgundies, browns and greens designed to improve to communication.
"The days of randomly choosing uniform colors are behind us,'' said Robert Crotty, vice president and marketing director.
"Lasting impressions are made within 90 seconds, and apparel color accounts for nearly 60 percent of a person's acceptance or rejection.''
That means companies need to take a hard look at their uniform color choices, he said. For example, green and blue work better in outdoor businesses, while black and blue are best used in technical, automotive, industrial and service industries, the company said.
GE lands $510M supply contract from Navy
GE Aircraft Engines has won a a $510 million supply contract from the Navy to overhaul and repair components for the F404-400/-402 engines.
GEAE will provide program management, warehousing and information technology for more than 36 components on the engine's rotor and stator assemblies. The work will be done at the Navy's Jacksonville, Fla. depot.
The F404 powers the Navy's F/A-18 Hornet fighter.
Milacron's Bechtel gets engineering award
Roland E. Bechtel, who has held a variety of assignments in a 33-year career in Milacron Inc.'s plastics business, has received the Dave Noffsinger Award for Excellence in Engineering and Technology, the company's highest engineering honor.
The award, established in 1994 in honor of Noffsinger one of the founders of Milacron's plastics business, has been award to only four others.
Most recently interim president at Uniloy Milacron North America, Bechtel joined the company in 1970 as a sales engineer.
Cincinnati Machine signs EADS deal
Cincinnati Machine, a unit of Unova Corp., has signed a production equipment sourcing agreement with European Aeronautic Defense & Space Co.
The new agreement aims to build a long-term relationship with suppliers that are willing to develop sustained performance to better meet market needs, the companies said.
The agreement paves the way for strengthening Cincinnati Machine's relationship with EADS for supplying products.
