Figg-Currier shares lead at LPGA Big Apple Classic

Cindy Figg-Currier took last year off from the LPGA Tour to give birth to her second child.
Now, she's back, and in her first week away from the kids this year was tied for the lead halfway through the Big Apple Classic in New Rochelle, N.Y.
"Maybe that's it. There's no cooking, no laundry, no getting up in the middle of the night to give a bottle," she said Friday after a 65 left her tied with Hee-Won Han at 8-under-par 134. "I wish they were here, though."
If Kaitland, 8, and Mary, 1, had made the trip from Texas, they would have seen their mother come up with a bogey-free round that featured four birdies on her front nine, including a tap-in on the par-5 18th after a 35-foot putt for eagle hung on the lip.
Suzy Whaley, the teaching pro from Avon, Conn., who will play in the PGA Tour's Greater Hartford Open next week, had a 75 and was at 2 over at 144, two shots better than the cut.
Middletown's Marianne Morris missed the cut at 8-over 150.
B.C. OPEN: Unfazed by a sore neck and a five-hour rain delay that prevented him from finishing the second round, Steve Lowery moved into a tie for the lead of the PGA Tour event at Endicott, N.Y.
With darkness falling, Lowery was at 4 under through 11 holes and was 12 under for the tournament to tie Pat Bates, Alex Cejka, and Brett Quigley atop the leaderboard.
Milford native Bob Lohr was at 8-over 152 after 36 holes.
U.S. PUBLIC LINKS: Oklahoma State's Dayton Rose and Vanderbilt's Brant Snedecker each won two matches Friday to advance to the 36-hole final today at Galloway Township, N.J.
JUNIOR PGA: Phillip Bryan of Mustang, Okla., shot a 1-over-par 72 but managed to keep a four-stroke lead at 207 after three rounds the Westfield Center (Ohio) Country Club.
In the girls' division, Spain's Emma Cabrera-Bello shot a 5-under 66 to widen her lead to 10 shots at 205.
NATIONWIDE TOUR: Turpin High grad Andy Sanders, with a 141, missed the cut by a stroke at the Henrico County Open in Richmond, Va. Oak Hills High grad Brett Wetterich, at 148, also missed the cut.
Sonny Skinner and Bo Van Pelt shared the lead a 12-under 132.
