FLORENCE - Leona Clara McCormick, 79, a homemaker and member of Florence Baptist Temple, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital in Florence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1993.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Plaskett of Florence and Janet Cottrell of Alabaster, Ala.; two sons, John of Chesapeake, Va., and Phillip of Jacksonville, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home in Florence. Services will also be held Friday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Kempsville Chapel, 1485 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, Va. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Cemetery in Virginia Beach.

BELLEVUE - Margaret Mary Brauns Furnish, 84, a nurse's aide for Garrard Convalescent Home in Covington, died Sunday at Northern Kentucky Care & Rehabilitation Center in Highland Heights.
She was a member of St. Bernard Church in Dayton, Ky., where she was part of the senior citizen club.
Surviving are a son, Phillip of Bellevue; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home in Bellevue. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard Church in Dayton, Ky. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Ruth M. Brewster
FORT THOMAS - Ruth Marie Brewster, 85, a homemaker, died Sunday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital in Mount Airy.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Fort Thomas, where she was part of the altar society and the mother's club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Rice of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Pamela Collar of Toledo, Ohio; two sons, Robert of Alexandria and William of Cincinnati; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
No visitation. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. today at Passionists Nuns Convent in Erlanger. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas is handling arrangements.

NEWPORT - Rose Uhl, 76, a homemaker and member of Holy Spirit Parish Church in Newport, died July 2 at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas.
Surviving are four sons, George and Jim Piccirillo, both of Newport, Tom Piccirillo of Covington and Chuck Uhl of Elsmere; a daughter, Kimberly Bramel of Newport; two sisters, Mary Ann Wentworth of Fort Thomas and Geri Thomas of Utah; a brother, John Nolan of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

COVINGTON - Charles E. Bramlage, 75, a mail and baggage handler at Cincinnati Union Terminal for 24 years, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital in Florence.
He had retired after 17 years with Firstar Bank and was a former employee for Hilvers Catering.
Surviving are his wife, Mary LaVerne Hellmann Bramlage; two daughters, Sandra Lackey of Hebron and Mary Charlene Flanagan of Ghent, Ky.; two sons, Ralph of Florence and Charles "Chuck" of Independence; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Mass of Christian burial will be noon Thursday at Mother of God Church in Covington. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright.

COVINGTON - Alex D. Patton, 54, a meat cutter for John Morrell Co. in Cincinnati, and a former meat cutter for the Kroger Co., died Monday at his home.
He was a Vietnam War Air Force veteran and a member of Meat Cutters Union Local 7.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Wilson Patton; five daughters, Deonia Patton of Florence, Rachel Carnes of California, Ky., Teresa Shworles of Ludlow, Amanda Patton of Newport and Mary Patton of Covington; two sons, Alex Jr. and James, both of Covington; his mother, Ida Alice Roberts Patton of Latonia; two brothers, Buford of Visalia, Ky., and Curtis of Sparta, Ky.; three sisters, Ima Jean Roundtree of Covington, Brenda Brashear of Batavia and Sharon Smothers of Ludlow; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today and service 1 p.m. Thursday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Ludlow. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

ERLANGER - Barbara Jean Ruttencutter-Dean, 66, an employee for ChoiceCare in Cincinnati for 16 years, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Covington.
Surviving are her husband, Jack; two sons, Alan of Sevierville, Tenn., and Kurt of Burlington; a daughter, Lynn Boone of Fort Mitchell; three stepsons, John Dean of Taylor Mill and Jim and Joe Dean, both of Fort Thomas; three stepdaughters, Mary Knoll of Bellevue, Sue Clayton of Fort Thomas and Ann Liles of Newport; two sisters, Ginny Lehnhoff of Kettering, Ohio, and Delores Webb of Taylor Mill; a brother, Daniel Humphrey of Sanders, Ky.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. and service 7 p.m. today at Allison & Rose Funeral Home in Taylor Mill. Her body will be cremated.

INDEPENDENCE - Juanita Taylor Heuser, 61, a former office manager for Florence Hardware and former member of the Order of Eastern Star, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Covington.
Surviving are her husband, Leslie Heuser Jr.; two sons, Randy of Florence and Scott of Independence; a daughter, Tina Depew of Independence; a brother, Carl Taylor of Independence; a sister, Mildred Anthony of Tickfaw, La.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. and service 8 p.m. Thursday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel in Clifton.

Harry E. Haake
TAYLOR MILL - Harry E. Haake, 81, a retired employee for the Ford Motor Co. and member of the United Auto Workers, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Covington.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and member of Latonia Christian Church. After his retirement, he became a deputy jailer and deputy sheriff in Kenton County.
He was past master of the Golden Rule F&AM Masonic Lodge 746 in Latonia, and a member of the Scottish Rite Temple in Covington.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Mae Tarvin Haake; a daughter, Charlene Streutker of Florence; two sisters, Margaret Aulick of Cincinnati and Reva Swegles of Latonia; four brothers, Bruce of Fort Wright, Gilbert of Sun City, Ariz., Edward of Cincinnati and Robert of Taylor Mill; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m. and Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. today at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia. Service with burial to follow will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery Chapel in Fort Mitchell.
