The opening of the new 18-screen theater in West Chester on Friday brings the number of Tristate stadium-style movie houses to six. (The total will hit seven when the stadium-style Showcase Cinemas Forest Fair reopens in the fall after major remodeling of the mall that houses it.)

With the new muliplex open in the fast-growing northern suburbs, boasting that it offers the "ultimate" stadium showplace, it's time for a look at how all the stadium theaters stack up.

We looked at: Number of screens; Risers: Vertical distance between rows. Legroom: Horizontal distance from back of a seat to the edge of the seat behind it; first number in chart is distance with seat down, second with seat up. Moveable arms: Do the armrests flip up? Cupholders? Rockers: Do the seats rock? Digital sound: CD-quality system? Digital projection: Capable of showing digitized movies?

Wheelchair access: Space for wheelchairs? Listening devices: Earphones and amplified sound for hearing-impaired patrons? Ticket prices? Tickets available online?
