College sports notes

The Enquirer and wire reports

The University of Cincinnati-Louisville football game at Nippert Stadium, originally scheduled for Nov. 29, will be played on Nov. 28 at a time to be determined by ESPN or ESPN2. UC's Sept. 1 season opener against East Carolina will also be shown on ESPN.

The winner of the Cincinnati-Louisville game has won the C-USA title in each of the last three seasons.

NEUHEISEL CLAIM: Washington football coach Rick Neuheisel contends a school e-mail gave him permission to participate in an NCAA Tournament betting pool, an apparent infraction that has become the focus of an NCAA investigation.

NCAA TRACK: Miami RedHawks sophomore David Mitchell (5,000-meter run) and junior Lauren Collins (hammer throw) received at-large bids to this week's championships. They join Lakota graduate and senior Brian Godsey (5,000) and junior Andrea Kremer (3,000 steeplechase).
