Ft. Wright tests longer hours
The Cincinnati Enquirer
FORT WRIGHT - Extended hours for city offices will take effect July 1 for a six-month trial period.
City offices are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On July 1, hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Fort Wright officials hope the new hours will enable people to stop by city offices on the way to or from work. The change is being done by rescheduling some city staff without any increase in personnel costs.
During the month of December, the city building also will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays for people who want to pay their property taxes due Dec. 31.
Fort Wright officials will record the number of citizen contacts, telephone and walk-in traffic during the six-month trial period to determine how well the extended office hours are being utilized.
