Ohio Memorial Day activities



Clermont County

Batavia - A parade and ceremony to honor war dead will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday. The parade will march up Main Street to the Clermont County Courthouse, pausing at the Eastfork Bridge and Haglage Park for brief services. Groups wishing to participate, call Frank Morrow at 732-7364.

Bethel - Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Old Bethel Church, north of Bantam, on the East Fork State Park property.

An American Legion program begins at 11 a.m. in the adjoining cemetery.

Mount Repose - A service will begin at 10:05 a.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Milford, 1367 Woodville Pike in Mount Repose.

Army Ranger Kyle Smith will speakabout the day he was seriously injured in Iraq.

New Richmond - Service at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial on Susanna Way.

Cincinnati

Eden Park - Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 10 will hold its annual service at 10 a.m. Monday at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Eden Park - The Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, conducted by Sarah Ioannides, will perform its annual Memorial Day Concert at 3 p.m. Monday at Seasongood Pavilion. Free.

Butler County

Hamilton - Celebration will be 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the Monument Cabin on Monument Avenue downtown. Costumed volunteers will talk about daily life during the days of Fort Hamilton.

Dearborn County

Lawrenceburg - A program will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the War Memorial to the Common Man downtown.

Sammy Davis, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, will speak.
