Walks

• Fifteenth Annual Great Strides Walk - Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis, Saturday at Saywer Point, downtown. Registration 9 a.m.; walk begins 10 a.m. Collect donations and then walk 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) to aid research toward a cure for CF. Information: 533-9300.

Fit City details

• Arthritis Walk, 10 a.m. Sunday at Sawyer Point, downtown.

Tap dance

Celebrate National Tap Dance Day with master tap classes noon-1:15 p.m. and 1:30-2:45 p.m. Saturday at Xavier University's Gallagher Center, 3800 Victory Parkway, Evanston. $15 per class or $25 for both.

Celebrate the birthday of tapper Bill "Bojangles" Robinson while you learn from Joe Deer, head of Wright State University's Musical Theatre Program, and Becky Hoag, director of the Columbus Tap Festival.

Enjoy a tap dance celebration at 4 p.m. Tickets: $5. Information: 829-1328 or 541-7443.

Sand volleyball

Cincinnati FunRaisers Sand Volleyball 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Back Porch Saloon, 9626 Princeton-Glendale Road, West Chester Township. Members $7, nonmembers $10.

Golf

Seventh Annual StarShine Golf Classic 7 a.m. next Monday at Clovernook Country Club, 2035 W. Galbraith Road, North College Hill. $200 per golfer ($800/foursome), morning event; $250 per golfer ($1,000/foursome), afternoon event.

Enjoy a day of golf with University of Cincinnati football coach Rick Minter and support the hospice of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Day ends with an auction, awards, cocktails and food at 6:30 p.m. Information: Kathy Murray, 983-6458.

Duathlon

Buffalo Trail Duathlon, starting 8 a.m. May 24 at Limestone and Second Street, downtown Maysville. Registration $40, if postmarked by Saturday; $50 thereafter. No race-day registration.

Spice up your fitness routine with this two-sport challenge. Try a 2-mile run, 22-mile bike ride and another 2-mile run sponsored by the Maysville-Mason County Area Chamber of Commerce. Course winds along the Ohio River and old Buffalo Trails, as well as up Big Hiney Hill. Relay teams can register for $70 per team.
