An Indiana man who was driving a sport utility vehicle that ran off Interstate 74 and rolled over on his passenger was charged Thursday with aggravated vehicular homicide.
Matthew J. Schemer, 21, of Lawrenceburg, lost control about 1 a.m. April 23 near the Race Road overpass in Green Township. The SUV hit an embankment and several trees, throwing passenger Mark E. Orschell from the vehicle, Hamilton County sheriff's officers said.
Orschell, 21, of West Harrison, Ind., died at the scene.
Schemer surrendered to Hamilton County sheriff's officers Thursday and was jailed to await arraignment.
The two were not wearing seat belts, sheriff's officers said.
