Covington man stabbed as he answers knock

The Cincinnati Enquirer

COVINGTON - Police say a Covington man was stabbed repeatedly at the door to his Scott Street home Thursday morning.

The victim, who lives in the 100 block of Scott Street, told police he was attacked when he answered a knock at the door just before 4:30 a.m.

Police say the victim was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati, where he was treated for minor stab wounds to his left arm and lower back. A second person in the apartment was not injured.

Police said the victim, whose identity was not released, told detectives he didn't know his attacker. But police say they have surveillance video of the victim and suspect talking earlier in the day.

"The victim's story just doesn't add up," said Sgt. Teal Nally, spokesman for Covington Police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Covington police at (859) 292-2234.
