The Associated Press

JACKSON, Ohio - A single-engine plane crashed near Jackson County Airport on Saturday, killing two people, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The Jackson post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was investigating the crash, but declined to release details.

Officials had not determined if the 4:15 p.m. crash occurred while the plane was taking off or landing, the FAA said.

The victims' names were not released.

Jackson is about 70 miles southeast of Columbus.
