Top pick: A jolt for JAG: Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Robyn Lively and David McCallum play Navy investigators called in when an officer is murdered in a two-part episode (8 p.m., Channels 12, 7; ends next Tuesday). Harmon and crew could star in a fall JAG spin-off.

• Critic John Kiesewetter also says low-rated Just Shoot Me returns for a few weeks before NBC likely cancels it on May 12 (8 p.m., Channels 5, 22).

Critic's pick: The week's big release is the return of Madonna on American Life (Maverick; $18.98; $27.98 limited edition with bonus DVD).

• Psychedelic explorers the Flaming Lips are back with Fight Test (Warner Bros.; $9.98).

• The Blue Man Group teams with singers, notably Dave Matthews, for The Complex (Atlantic; $18.98).

• Superstar producer Daniel Lanois, performing May 11 at Southgate House, goes solo with Shine (Epitaph; $17.98).

New on DVD/Video

Critic's pick: Enquirer film critic Margaret A. McGurk suggests you run, don't walk, to find the documentary Standing in the Shadows of Motown, out today. The DVD edition of the award-winning film about Motown house band, the Funk Brothers, offers such extra goodies as expanded interviews, filmmaker commentary, trivia tracks, musician biographies, an interactive "virtual recording studio," and a jam session viewable from multiple angles. It also includes lyrics to some of the multiplatinum Motown hits performed in the movie by Ben Harper, Joan Osborne and Cincinnati's own Bootsy Collins.
