Ewing Jr. may have second thoughts about Indiana
By The Associated Press
WASHINGTON - Patrick Ewing Jr. may be having second thoughts about playing college ball at Indiana.
Ewing had 11 points in the Capital Classic on Thursday. After the game, he said his decision to play for the Hoosiers might not be final.
He said he plans to "sit down and talk about it some more" with his parents before signing the papers.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward, who is from Fort Washington, Md., is the son of former New York Knicks star Patrick Ewing, who played at Georgetown.
Ewing Jr. called Indiana coach Mike Davis last month and said he wanted to play for the Hoosiers.
"I really think I may be able to come in next year and get some of the minutes Jeff Newton had this year," he said at the time. "Hopefully, I'll make an impact right away."
Ewing averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots per game for National Christian Academy last season.
