Cyclones win playoff series



The Cincinnati Cyclones continue to be the Cinderella team of the East Coast Hockey League playoffs.

Cincinnati advanced to the Northern Conference Finals with a 4-1 win over the Toledo Storm on Wednesday at U.S. Bank Arena.

First period: 1. CIN Brand 4 (Rodberg, Cardarelli) 7:44; 2. TOL Verbeek 4 (Ellis, Mason) 17:43.

Second period: 3. CIN Norrie 2 (PPG) (Brand, Cardarelli) 16:46; 4. CIN Noga 1 (Strand, Cannon) 17:20.

Third period: 5. CIN Gallace 2 (Gaucher, Bootland) 7:42.
