Meet the Taste Team

Michal Faulkiner owns Studio 42 Hair Salon in West Chester Township and lives in Forest Park. He eats out often in nearby restaurants.

A buyer for Ferromatik Milacron North America, Stephen Hahn lives in Mount Orab. His wife cooks at home, but he enjoys traveling and eating foods from different regions.

Jennifer Henson teaches English at Lloyd Memorial High School in Erlanger. She enjoys cooking at home in Milford.

A native of Oxford, Alex Kinne graduates next month from Miami University with a degree in systems analysis. He enjoys cooking a variety of foods, including pasta and stir-fries.

Chuck Merk of Loveland is a math teacher at Lakota Freshman School in West Chester Township. He experiments with Mexican and Asian dishes at home.

Doreen Schowalter grew up in southern India and lives in Mason, where she cooks for her husband and three children. She cooks Thai, Chinese, Greek and other ethnic cuisine.

Susan Runkle of Walton has won prizes in several national cooking contests, including a $2,000 runner-up prize in the 2002 Pillsbury Bakeoff. When she's not creating or practicing for contests, the England native likes to cook Italian and Asian dishes.

A chemist who works for Procter & Gamble, Val Zackery cooks Italian and other ethnic dishes for friends at home in Amberley Village.
