Cyclones go up 2-0 in series

TOLEDO - The Cincinnati Cyclones continued their amazing run with a 4-2 victory over the Toledo Storm for a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 ECHL Northwest Division finals Saturday at the Toledo Sports Arena.

Toledo's Matt Ellis scored his second goal of the game at 1:33 of the third period to cut the deficit to 3-2.

But Cyclones goalie Greg Hewitt held the Storm scoreless the rest of the way.

Cyclones captain Nick Bootland added an empty-net, power-play goal at 18:47 for the final margin.

Game 3 is 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. Bank Arena. If the Cyclones win, they'll advance to the Northern Conference finals against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies or Greensboro Generals.
