218,931 Guard, reservists serving



Nationally, 218,931 National Guard and military reservists had been called to active duty as of April 2. In the Persian Gulf War, about 260,000 Guard and reservists were called to active duty.

The total number of reserve personnel on active duty for the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 148,450. The Naval Reserve has 10,782; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 35,123; Marine Corps Reserve, 20,560; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 4,016.

In Ohio, 5,670 Guard and reservists had been called to active duty as of April 2.

In Kentucky, 3,617 Guard and reservists had been called to active duty as of Feb. 19.

In the Tristate, units called to active duty are:

• Communications Company, Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, Cincinnati (160).

• 15th Psychological Operations Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, Cincinnati (4)

• 377th Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Cincinnati (95)

• 3426 Military Intelligence Detachment, U.S. Army Reserve, Sharonville (5)

• 324th MP Company, Ohio National Guard, Middletown (130)

• 478th Engineers, U.S. Army Reserve, Fort. Thomas (approx. 100)

• 1193rd Panel Bridge Company, Ohio National Guard, Avondale (112)
