Role of media to be discussed



First Unitarian Church, at Reading Road and Linton Street in Avondale, will present "The Role and Responsibility of the Media in our Society" from 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday.The questions will include: Is there an ideological bias in the media? What is the impact of the electronic age on the print and broadcast media? What are the implications of increasing concentration of corporate control of the media? What do you see as the role and responsibility of the media in this changing society?

Moderator is Jo-Ann Huff Albers, director of the department of media and journalism at Western Kentucky University. The panel of journalists includes: Thomas Callinan, editor, The Cincinnati Enquirer; John Fox, editor and co-publisher, CityBeat; and George Papagiannis, director of radio training and operations, Internews Worldwide, Washington, D.C.
