Major museum events

Through Sept. 1, Cincinnati History Museum - Liberty on the Border: A Civil War Exhibit. The new exhibit, which opened Saturday, was designed by staff and historians at Museum Center and examines the role of "border states," such as Ohio and Kentucky, during the Civil War.

Through June 13 at Omnimax Theater - Coral Reef Adventure.

Baseball as America, Aug. 16-Nov. 9 - The nation's first major exhibition to study the relationship between baseball and American culture, organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. It features an unprecedented display of treasures from Cooperstown, N.Y.

St. Peter and the Vatican: The Legacy of the Popes, Dec. 20-April 18, 2004 - More than 350 objects spanning 2,000 years of papal history in the largest Vatican collection ever to tour North America. Considered a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition.

Patrons are still sought for the naming rights to the new, $2 million exhibit space expansion that will house these high-profile shows.
