88-year-old killed when struck by 18-year-old's car, patrol says

MONROE TOWNSHIP - An 88-year-old New Richmond man was killed Thursday morning when he was struck by a car while attempting to cross Laurel Lindale Road in Clermont County.

Lloyd E. Reese of the 2000 block of Franklin-Laurel Road was pronounced dead at the scene, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. A preliminary investigation revealed that Bryan W. Rector, 18, of the 2100 block of Laurel Lindale Road, New Richmond, was operating a 2002 Kia Rio south on Laurel Lindale Road when the vehicle struck the victim as he attempted to cross the roadway, the highway patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation.
