Counting down to the 75th Anniversary Oscars ceremony:

The firm now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers first tabulated Oscar ballots in 1935.

"May I have the envelope, please?" was dropped in 1957, when presenters first carried envelopes on stage themselves.

"And the Oscar goes to ... " replaced "And the winner is ..." in 1988.
