The Enquirer and wire reports

Triple Crown nominees Champali and Grey Comet head the field for today's $100,000 John Battaglia Memorial at Turfway Park.

The 1 1/16-mile Battaglia is the final local prep for the March 22 Grade II $500,000 Lane's End Stakes.

Champali, winner of the Grade III Iroquois Stakes at Churchill Downs at age 2, won his seasonal debut in the Turfway Prevue and then the WEBN Stakes this year.
