St. Bonaventure 94, Geo. Wash. 89

The Associated Press

OLEAN, N.Y. - Marques Green scored 32 points to lead St. Bonaventure past George Washington 94-89 in overtime Wednesday night.

St. Bonaventure went on a 13-5 run to end the game. Green scored all the Bonnies last 13 points in overtime.

The Colonials (10-15, 4-10) went on a 14-3 run with more than five minutes left in the second half. The Bonnies (13-13, 7-6) responded with a 12-4 run to take the lead, 76-74. The Colonials pulled ahead by three, but Green made a basket and was fouled with 20 seconds left. He made the free throw to tie the game and go into overtime.

Green also had 10 assists, six rebounds and two steals. Cortez Sutton scored 16 points, 14 of them in just seven minutes of play in the first half. Joe Shepherd and Mike Gansey each scored 14 points. Patricio Prato added 11 points and six rebounds.

Tamal Forchion scored 24 points for George Washington.

Jamil Terrell, who has started 18 games for the Bonnies this season, did not play. A question has arisen regarding his eligibility. St. Bonaventure has asked the Atlantic 10 Conference to work with the NCAA regarding this issue.
