UK Notebook

Estill's future uncertain

LEXINGTON - After Wednesday, Kentucky has one more home game. So might Marquis Estill. Though listed as a senior, the UK center can earn another year of eligibility if he graduates by August. Estill was a partial academic qualifier in 1999-2000 and ineligible to play that season.

Estill said he will participate in Senior Day ceremonies next Wednesday before the home finale against Vanderbilt. But he said he is undecided about next season and is participating in the event at the request of UK officials.

"I had nothing to do with it," he said Wednesday. "It's something they want me to do."

HAYES EXCELS: The best stat line Wednesday belonged to UK power forward Chuck Hayes: 12 points (4-of-6 shooting), four assists, a career-high four steals and just one turnover.

The team's leading rebounder at 6.7 per game, Hayes had just one rebound. But his passing skills and hustle are what make him atypical for a post player.

"I was impressed with Chuck's energy and effort, getting on the floor," UK coach Tubby Smith said.

JUMPING JULES: Jules Camara totaled 12 points and four rebounds, continuing a reputation as a Tennessee-killer.

Over his past three games against the Volunteers, he is averaging 13.6 points and shooting 66.7 percent (16-of-24).

CAT TALES: Keith Bogans' 15 points give him 1,783 for his career, moving him from ninth to seventh place on UK's all-time scoring list. He passed Cotton Nash (1,770) and Tayshaun Prince (1,775).
