Though Pamela King of Colerain Township "has shoes to match every outfit, even the plaids and unusual colors," according to the nominating letter from Deborah Phillips, she draws the line at matching her bowling ball and shoes.
"I'm not that anal," says the senior community development analyst for the City of Cincinnati, 46. Then she admits that bowling with her team members at Brentwood Bowl may be the only time she doesn't fret about coordinating colors.
Describe your style: Classic and chic with an urban flair.
You can be found shopping at: Saks, Stein Mart and TJ Maxx once or twice a week. .
Earliest fashion memory: When I was a junior or senior in high school, they came out with those "wet look" floor length coats with the zip-off bottom section. I had a navy blue one, bought at Shillito's, and wore it everywhere for about three years . . . 'til it started peeling.
Best bargain: A pair of St. John's velvet black pants regularly $325 for $84 at Saks.
Favorite designers: I do like the fit of Anne Klein and Real Clothes at Saks but usually I don't look for labels.
Signature look: The things I wear consistently are a pearl necklace and earrings.
Sentimental clothing: My wedding ring.
Fashion pet peeve: When people wear stockings that are darker than their shoes and those who wear the tags showing on purpose.
If you had big bucks you'd buy: A ruby pendant with a matching ruby and diamond necklace.
Fashion philosophy: People should choose clothes and dress according to their pocketbooks, personality and body type.
