2 suspected of mail theft

BURLINGTON - Two women arrested by Boone County Sheriff's deputies are suspected of pillaging mail from dozens of boxes in Boone and Grant counties.

Melissa D. Mason, 30, of Williamstown, and Stephanie L. Fields, 24, of Dry Ridge, are each charged with 38 counts of theft of mail matter, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two were released from the Boone County jail after each posted a $500 bond.

Ms. Mason and Ms. Fields are scheduled to appear in Boone District Court on Feb. 7.
